Learn Thai on your own terms.

Lots of people spend years in Thailand struggling to communicate, and their work suffers for it. Flue's time-tested approach gives you a chance to choose a different story for yourself.

🏫 Language school isn't for everyone.

It's a big commitment to sign up for months and months of classes. And lots of schools focus on language rules but never get you speaking!

Flue improves on the shortcomings of learning in the classroom:

πŸ“† Your Schedule

Flue's bite-sized lessons let you fit in a few minutes a day. Or do multiple lessons to dive in to full-time study.

πŸ“± Your Device

Learn with Flue on your computer, phone, or tablet. Your progress is automatically saved and synced everywhere.

🏠 Your Space

Flue lets you build your confidence learning in a safe space. When you are ready, try it out on others.

πŸ‘ͺ Great for kids, too.

Do you wish your kids could speak Thai? (It's a bit of a myth that children pick up the local language on their own.)

Flue lessons are kid-friendly: short (5-10 minutes each) and engaging.

The plan with Flue is to let you create accounts for anyone in your immediate family. Each person can progress at their own pace, on any device.

πŸ™ Developed in Thailand, specifically for Thai.

You may have noticed that most of the popular language learning apps are…a little light on Southeast Asian languages.

Flue was built for Southeast Asian languages first, so it is designed to handle all of the tricky things you find in Thai. It includes full audio for both male and female speakers.

πŸ’‘ A learning approach focused on understanding.

Maybe you’ve wasted time in language classes that never brought you any closer to understanding native speakers.

Flue was inspired by Dr. Greg Thomson's Growing Participator Approach, especially its emphasis on "furious listening" and avoiding English translation as an intermediary step. (If you've read about Krashen & Terrell's Natural Approach, you'll notice some similarities, there, too.)

Flue starts with small and comprehensible phrases. It gradually builds on these, adding greater complexity with each lesson.

πŸ“Š Flashcards come built-in. Never create another Anki deck.

Everyone agrees that you need to keep reviewing new words and structures to fully internalize them. But it can be a hassle to try to make your own flashcards.

Flue has a flashcard review system built right in, with audio, pictures, text, and pronunciation. Like Anki, it uses spaced-repetition to help you focus on the words you still need to learn.
